Lost

She knew...with quiet certainty...that all was lost.

  1. You really captured "melancholy" for me with this painting. The largeness and colors of the sky make it seem that the girl feels small and lost even though she's in the foreground. Lovely!

I'm sorry I was so slow to notice the comment you left on my "Sight" post on my blog. It was put into the "pending" folder even though I don't have that setting activated! Thank you very much for the kind words!

  2. Aaargh! No! Don't let it be true ... I agree with LA, you really nailed the feeling in this one. But those stars coming out do make me feel a LITTLE hopeful!

  3. Oh so sad... my heart goes out to her. Love her pose and inward pointing toes and the way she is looking down at them. The colour of the sky is lovely... the background is dark but still soft and gentle. Really like this one...

  4. Very sad..."all is lost" is such a strong statement.
    Great job with the theme.
I am also loving your travel log. I am planning to keep one on my next vacation; my trip to India and Nepal. it will take alot of discipline to complete sketches everyday.
